So, the haverford LLC is all macs. I mean all macs, there isn't a PC in the entire room. And all of those computers have a handy little button at the top of the screen that lets you switch the language that you type in. Not the keyboard, the language. And these are the computers we use to write to our japanese pen pals (in japanese obviously).
So, today, I got a chunk of the way through what I wanted to write back to my penpal (who is a guy, yamashita-san, if anyone cares) and then had to leave for the bus. I figured I'd go to the bryn mawr LLC and finish it later, cause I dont have the ability to write in japanese on my computer (if anyone has vista, a PC, and knows how to do this PLEASE CLUE ME IN). So this afternoon I head over to the LLC and I ask the girl working there if the computers have the ability to type in japanese, and she says yes. So I go in, and they're all PCs but I figure that it can't be that complicated, can it?
Um, yes, actually, it can. >.<*
So I finally get the little language bar to say it's set to Japanese, and I start typing. First thing I notice? All in katakana. And no matter how much I mess with the damn thing, it won't give me hiragana. Next thing? the keybored is...god I dont even KNOW. I hit the 'a' key and get 'chi'.
wtf? EPIC FAIL BRYN MAWR LLC
anyways, so all this means that its going to take me until next tuesday to finish the damn post and I'll just hope that they really dont check the site until wednesdays.....>.<
