oh thank you for this! it does sound like it might be able to tone itself down a bit more? at least on the terrible bits. XD if it turns out the story arc--as hontowa was implying in my post--is yoshitaro...pushing through his fears to become a good detective, then maybe we had to start at rock bottom??
